Every individual has a separate mind set and calmness about them. Hence, it is not necessary that each one of us can meditate for half an hour daily. The truth is just meditate for as long as you can.

As a beginner, you will find it difficult to meditate for that long. So, the idea is to start with 15 minutes and then gradually increase it to half an hour then 45 minutes and finally to an hour.

It is important to understand that you do not need to do this for a long time to get benefits. You can also stick to a 15 minute routine provided your mind is still and does not start to wander.
